From search to city pickup in three steps

Choose a car, confirm the details, and collect it at a city location. Confirmation is instant, and the rate you see already includes insurance, taxes and fees.

    Choose a car

    Compare compact, sedan and SUV classes in the fleet comparison table. Filter by seats, luggage and transmission, then check the daily rate and fuel policy per class.

    Confirm the details

    Set your pickup and return dates, choose a branch in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro or Kharkiv, and add the driver. You get a written confirmation right away. Bring the documents listed in our rental requirements.

  3. 03

    Pick up at a city location

    Show your licence and passport at the desk, sign the agreement, and take the keys. Basic coverage is already active, and any extra protection is added in the same visit. Deposit rules and late cancellation fees are set out in our cancellation policy.

Rental requirements

What you need to rent a car

Four checks decide whether a booking goes through: driver age, driving licence, security deposit and the payment card on file. The same rules apply to every class in the fleet, from compact city runabouts to SUVs.

Driver age 21+
Minimum age is 21 for compact and sedan classes. Drivers aged 21 to 24 pay a young driver surcharge of UAH 350 per day. SUV class requires a minimum age of 25. Maximum age is 75; drivers over 70 present a medical certificate valid for the rental period.
Driving licence
A full national driving licence held for at least 2 years, category B. Foreign licences are accepted together with an International Driving Permit or a certified translation. Bring the original licence and the main driver's passport to pickup. Only drivers named in the agreement may operate the vehicle.
Security deposit
The deposit is blocked on the card at pickup and released within 5 business days after return. Compact: UAH 8,000. Sedan: UAH 12,000. SUV: UAH 20,000. Cash deposits are not accepted, and the exact amount is confirmed in your booking summary before payment.
Payment card
A credit or debit card in the main driver's name, valid at least 3 months past the return date, with enough limit for the deposit block. Prepaid and virtual-only cards are declined. Base rate, insurance and taxes are charged at booking; the deposit is only held.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel or change a booked city car

These rules apply to every confirmed reservation made through helmgridiron.com for pickup in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro and Kharkiv. All times are local Ukrainian time.

Timing and fees

  • More than 48 hours before pickup No fee

    The prepayment is refunded in full and the deposit hold is released within 3 banking days.

  • 24 to 48 hours before pickup 30% of one rental day

    Charged from the prepayment. Deposit holds are released in full.

  • 2 to 24 hours before pickup 50% of one rental day

    Covers the reserved vehicle being held off the lot for your slot.

  • Under 2 hours or no-show One full rental day

    The vehicle stays available for 60 minutes after the agreed pickup time before it is released.

Changes to confirmed bookings

  • Date or time shift. One free reschedule is allowed up to 24 hours before pickup, subject to availability. Later shifts follow the fee table on the left.
  • Different vehicle class. Moving to a larger or smaller class is re-priced at the rate in force on the new date. Any difference is charged or refunded to the same card.
  • Different pickup city. City changes are treated as a new booking. Cancel the original first so the fee table applies once, not twice.
  • Extensions. Request an extension at least 12 hours before the return time. Extensions depend on the next booking and are confirmed in writing.
  • Late return. Returns more than 60 minutes late are billed by the hour, up to one full rental day.
  • Refunds. Approved amounts return to the original payment card within 5 to 10 banking days. The deposit hold is separate and follows the same timeline.

Cancellations caused by us

If the reserved vehicle becomes unavailable, we offer an equivalent or larger class at no extra cost. If you decline, you receive a full refund including the deposit hold, with no cancellation fee.
